As you know dear reader, I'm not one to moan about things. But every now and again you have to get things off your chest, and I find about every hour works for me.
So without further ado, shall we have a little moan about the elusive work-life balance?
My biggest grievance is that I don't seem to be managing much of a balance. I suppose part of the problem is that, as a wage slave, any work in the work-life balance is undesirable. But until that lottery win comes my way, work (or some means of income) is required. I do work for a reasonably progressive employer, so working reduced hours (at reduced pay) is an option, and the times I work are reasonably flexible. However work is still there for a big chunk of the day, five days a week.
Part of the problem is that I'm reasonably inept at managing what little time is left, and so vast amounts of time disappear into the internet or television, when I'm not really doing or watching anything in particular. I'm incredibly envious of friends who pack vast amounts into their days - and their days are no longer than mine!
Hmmmm, I feel this is turning into a bit of a moan that's going nowhere, so with no prospect of proper explanation or exploration of the subject, or resolution, I shall leave you with a song that sums up my feelings on the subject....
I may not have achieved much with this blog, but remember:- A problem shared is a problem dumped on someone else.
Take care of yourself!
